Welcome applicants to the UCLA OB/GYN training program. We hope that our new webpage will provide you with valuable information regarding our program, residents and facility.
The UCLA program has an excellent reputation in providing a strong academic and technical foundation in OB/GYN. The combination of training at a tertiary care center (UCLA-westwood) and a county hospital (OVMC), as well as the Kaiser facilities during the R3 year, provides experience within diverse patient populations, both ethnically and socioeconomically, while also exposing residents to different setting options for their future practice. Perhaps as a result of this, residents leaving the program have pursued very diverse career paths: within the class of 2003, most entered group or HMO practice, while in the current graduating class, 5/7 have matched into academic fellowship programs (view our graduates).
The faculty and residents have a strong commitment to teaching and to producing confident, knowledgable and technically skilled physicians of obstetrics and gynecology. We are also very fortunate to have a department chairman who has a clear dedication to resident well being, training and creating a supportive and resident friendly atmosphere. This has all contributed to the camaraderie, happiness and overall satisfaction that is evident throughout the resident body.
We look forward to meeting the applicants for next year´s class during the coming interview season.
